Mug
v. The Singaporean version of cramming for exams, i.e. scanning notes into one's brain. As if it wasn't filled with enough junk already.
Only if Necessary
adv. The night before for classroom assessments; one day for lecture tests; and one day and night (per subject) for major examinations.
This author is currently on hiatus for the ignoble cause of mugging. The public is advised to remain calm, as this routine protocol has been shown to have no effect on one's violent tendencies in 96% of cases.

Rain, Boredom and Sex.
Today was a pretty boring day. And the Humanities Seminar didn't help brighten my day either with an intetellectually stimulating History lecture on "Sex, Crime and Nation Building". As much as im in the Humanities Programme, i think the event was quite useless. For example, SLim (who organises the Seminar Series every time) deployed FIFTY ushers throughout Hwachong (even in isolated places like Science block) to welcome two chartered buses of students from other schools and ZERO members of the public. If that isn't a blatant showoff, i wonder what is.
And thanks to that event, we had our afternoon lessons pushed down by 1.5 hours. At least China Studies was a little more interesting, we got to watch a National Geographic deocumentary (in English!) about China.
But in the 40 minutes we spent cooped up in a freezing cold room watching a video, the world changed. I mean, the weather took a drastic turn for the worse. Yep, when we went out we were greeting by a damn heavy downpour and (mild) flash floods, with about an inch of water flowing everywhere. Even the sheltered walkway did little good.
WHY COULDN'T THE RAIN HAVE STARTED ONE HOUR EARLIER. Then our honourable guest of honour wouldn't be able to come over for the talk. D:
As it turned out, our History lesson after that was cancelled, since our classroom was locked up (thanks to the LEP students illegally using it before that) and most of 4N had disappeared for their EP3 or 3rd lang anyway, considering how late it was.
Plus, for the first time in 2008, we didn't get any homework today! I was elated enough to have run out and dance in the rain, however sanity got the better of me.
But on a random side note, Jiakun said that he was "wet down there". Goodness knows what he did in his excitement.
