Mug
v. The Singaporean version of cramming for exams, i.e. scanning notes into one's brain. As if it wasn't filled with enough junk already.

Only if Necessary
adv. The night before for classroom assessments; one day for lecture tests; and one day and night (per subject) for major examinations.

This author is currently on hiatus for the ignoble cause of mugging. The public is advised to remain calm, as this routine protocol has been shown to have no effect on one's violent tendencies in 96% of cases.

Cosfest VII

Couple o' days late, as usual. D:

Singapore's very own Cosfest VII: Super Henshin was held at Downtown East on 5-6 July, unfortunately I only went halfway through Sunday, with Wei Qi and some of his other friends. Still quite an eye-opener though, since it was my first cosplay event. ^^

Before we go on, DISCLAIMER: I am by no means an otaku, having only watched Higurashi and some Lucky Star episodes in Beijing, courtesy of Andai. I only went down cos WQ convinced me to go with him, and I had spare time on Sunday anyway since the next day was a holiday (Youth Day). And no, as much as i might like to, we were not cosplaying, just some normal kids part of the audience.

And hooo boy was there a crowd (though not as much as other events like the IT Fair as i had expected, probably cos we only went in the closing hours), comprising mostly teens though we did see some of the *ahem* older crowd as well. Not to mention that everyone was pretty high, going crazy over all that eye candy.

It's like a really large scale costume party, with cosplayers wearing exquisite costumes from all your favourite animes there - most of those we saw were from Bleach, D Gray Man and some Naruto and Vampire Knight. As expected, everyone was going trigger-happy with the cosplayers receiving lots of attention posing for shots.

Too bad my photos are only of handphone quality - my camera broke in Beijing, remember T_T And when nearly everyone there is going around with professional digital SLR cameras, you feel like a complete noob wielding only a lousy 2 mpx camera phone.

Still, who can't resist the urge to camwhore there? I'll let the photos speak for themselves. =P

Poor L getting ganged.

Wright needs spikier hair.

GUNDAM EXIA! My fav outfit there =3

...xD

And to end if off, they had mass Caramelldansen on stage for the finale! You have no idea how cute it is to see all the cosplayers dancing together up there. Go search Youtube for "cosfest caramelldansen" if you want to see videos on it, the quality of the one i took on my phone sucks too bad to be shown here.

A pity i don't have more photos though, since i had to delete quite a few due to them being too blur or having the view blocked by some other pesky photographer. D:

Overall, a memorable experience, and was actually pretty large-scale and not a failure like i had initally expected (as most Singaporean events are).

KAWAII DESU~!
